What unique problem does your company solve for restaurants?
CrunchTime is a software platform that gives restaurant operators the tools and data-backed insights to dramatically improve operational efficiency and productivity, manage talent, and increase profitability.
Why did your company join RTN?
As a technology company that has been around for 25 years, we realize the value of RTN and how important they are to the restaurant community. Our intention is to learn from RTN and the members of this community so we can better serve our customers, and also share our knowledge so we can be of help to whoever we can reach.
What’s your favorite personal pastime?
I love playing guitar, and since Covid, I’m fortunate to work from my home office with my guitars at hand!
What three words would you use to describe what’s happening in the restaurant industry right now?
Disruption. Opportunity. Progress.
What’s your most-used restaurant app?
Not exactly a restaurant app, but I love using apps like Google Maps or Yelp to find new and interesting local restaurants, particularly when I am traveling. I am also a fan of apps that let you pay your check by phone, whether that is the restaurant’s own app or something the POS provides.
Restauranteur you most admire and why?
I won’t call out a specific person, but I really admire and empathize with everyone who is a unit manager in the restaurant industry today. I spent almost 20 years managing, and the challenges today far exceed anything I had to deal with. Covid, staffing, and the quickly evolving landscape make their job more difficult than ever.
What technology are you most excited about for the future of restaurants?
Anything that alleviates the burden on the restaurant operator and staff, and ultimately enhances the guest experience. We think that AI will be a big part of restaurant technology in the future, helping to analyze data and predict trends that will drive efficiency and strategic planning for restauranteurs.
