  • About Scott:

I am passionate about helping people and businesses, field services just happen to be my vehicle. I’ve worked my entire career building scalable deployment models and have picked up the moniker  “The Deployment Guy.”  Over the years I’ve partnered with restaurants of all shapes and sizes, from individual franchisees to global QSR’s.

  • What unique problem does your company solve for restaurants?

Through our field services, we help restaurant IT teams seamlessly implement new technologies and upgrade their IT infrastructure. We provide a wide variety of skill sets and geographic coverage, with technicians in all 50 states and over 100 countries globally. This enables us to serve the restaurant’s full store footprint and be their “one-back-to-pat” for all things installation and break-fix.

  • Why did your company join RTN?

Between MURTEC and the WORKGROUPS, there’s no better place to keep your finger on the pulse of how restaurants are embracing technology. The industry seems to be in the midst of a digital revolution, and joining RTN enables us to be a part of it and contribute where we can. It’s such a fun industry to collaborate with as well due to its fast pace and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • What’s your favorite personal pastime?

I have three young kids, so right now it’s just spending time with my family. I’ve always been a kid at heart so I love doing dad activities, everything from coaching youth sports to building pillow forts.

  • What three words would you use to describe what’s happening in the restaurant industry right now?

    #Digitized #revolution #energized

  • What’s your most-used restaurant app and why?

Chipotle. The ease-of-use, combined with the convenience of Chipotlane creates a frictionless experience.

  • Restaurateur you most admire and why?

Tough, that’s like trying to pick your favorite kid. I’ll give the nod to Truett Cathy (Chick-fil-A). The “surprise and delight” culture he built is remarkable. That plus he owned a batmobile and worked in a treehouse.

  • What technology are you most excited about for the future of restaurants and why?

I’ve always been fascinated by IoT and connecting unusual things to the internet like refrigerators and deep fryers. Automating through IoT not only makes the employee experience better by reducing mundane tasks, it also gives them more time to focus on guests and create a better dining experience.
