Tim Tang is an MIT engineer and GWU sociologist. He focuses on using technology to achieve business results. His method is to cross pollinate strategies from a variety of industries, including restaurants, convenience stores, banking, government, and more. He has experience with a broad portfolio of solutions (e.g. AI, cybersecurity, digital media, etc.) and is nurturing an ecosystem of suppliers.

Will Guidara, author of “Unreasonable Hospitality,” inspired me with his belief that “in restaurants, our reason for being is to make people feel seen.”
I admire how he hacked the restaurant business by serving a $2 hot dog in a four-star restaurant to elevate his restaurant to #1 in the world. I want to do the same. - What technology are you most excited about for the future of restaurants and why?
With rising operational costs and labor shortages, the restaurant industry is in crisis. I’m focused on technologies that elevate restaurant profitability by improving operational efficiency and increasing sales. I’m most excited about computer vision and AI voice solutions for their ability to simplify operations and drive customer experience.
